This non-descript brick building was being used as a school in the 19th century, when workers found elaborate mudejar decoration that had been intentionally covered when this 14th-century Synagogue was converted to a rabies hospital. Now it has been restored and is one of Spain's three largely intact synagogues, testimony to Cordoba's Jewish past.
