||||
Cordoba Info |
28 January 2006 - Scaffolding is now hanging in the middle of the Roman Bridge, which is several months into a major 2-year restoration and is closed to all traffic. Tourists wishing to take a stroll along the south bank of the Guadalquivir should cross the Miraflores bridge and stroll through Cordoba's newest park, with excellent views of the old city. Simultaneously, the Puerta del Puente (Bridge Gate) is being completely restored, and in the meanwhile it has been covered with a super sized, avante-garde art screens by Luis Gordillo, with more to come as scaffolding extends over the bridge. The 30-million-euro project includes the restoration of the Calahorra Tower and the construction of an avante-garde visitor center.
